What you need to know
You are advised that all walks involve exertion and some degree of strenuous exercise in order to participate. You should be reasonably fit for a day’s walk but if you are in doubt please seek professional medical advice. By confirming the booking with Lakeland Mountain Experience you acknowledge this fact and agree that you and your party have the required level of fitness.
If at the start of the day, I believe that you may be unable to complete the day due to fitness or inadequate personal equipment, I reserve the right for the sake of group safety not to allow participation.
As you would expect, I am a qualified outdoor first aider and we hold valid public liability insurance. You should of course take out your own holiday insurance should you have to cancel for any reason.
Should the weather or any other factor dictate that the scheduled route is inappropriate, I reserve the right to modify the day’s programme for safety reasons.
For guided walks you should be equipped with the following personal equipment:
Waterproof trousers and jacket
Food and water for a day
Hats and gloves
Two man lightweight tent
Stove, cooking utensils and fuel
Headtorch, rucksack, flask and expedition food
For navigation courses, all equipment is provided – you just need your walking equipment and food and drink for the day. See NNAS website www.NNAS.org.uk
